The Nissan Motor Company, Ltd. is a car maker which is baed in Japan. It used to market its vehicles using the Datsun brand. At present, it is one of the rivals of the United States auto market’s Big Three.
Now, this Nissan tail light manufacturer has got updates that would be of interest for its followers and of interest of people following all developments in the auto industry. Two of the company’s recent updates include one negative and one positive. The negative is a recall while the positive is an honor.
Last Thursday, the company announced that it would be recalling 113,000 units of its minivans. However, these minivans are those that are solely sold in the Japan market. The company also did say that they are doing such because of a problem with the minivan’s exhaust pipes.
The minivan to be recalled is the Nissan Serena and the models that are affected by the recall are those which have been manufactured from April of 2005 up until August of 2006. Details about the recall and the announcement have been posted in the company’s native country’s Transport Ministry web site.
The web site did further inform readers that the Nissan Serena’s parts which have been welded were found out to have the risk of corrosion. And if this does happen, the pipe could fall off. The company also did mention that they have been able to note 46 cases and these were reported to the company already. However, the good side was that there were no accidents related to the exhaust pipe fall-off.
As per the positive piece of news, the Nissan Motor Company has been given accolades for a couple of its vehicles - the Nissan 350Z coupe and the Nissan X-TRAIL. The awards given to the vehicles were part of the Auto Express Used Car Honors.
For three years, the Nissan X-TRAIL has been an awardee in the Best Recreational 4×4 segment. As per the Nissan 350Z, this is the second time that it was awarded the Best in the Coupe segment.
The judges of the mentioned award giving body mentioned about the X-TRAIL, “It sill reigns supreme as the ultimate used SUV by combining decent on-road manners with genuine off-road capabilities.”
As per the Nissan 350Z, the judges were quite enthusiastic to mention, “Looks and performance count for plenty in the coupe category, which explains why the Nissan comes out on top. Few cars at any price handle as well as the 350Z, and the futuristic styling manages to tick all the right boxes, too.”
