I bought a 2000 nissan maxima that had been previously overheated and it makes a small knocking sound when i hit the throttle but ONLY when im applying gas. a few people have said it might be the heads, or the intake manifold. i just really want to get rid of this ANNOYING sound. can anybody help me out with some info ? ?

If it overheated as you said, that’s probably why they sold the car. The engine is toast. I’d look into a good used engine and have it installed, be sure to get a warranty.

For you before you piece of junki hope you aint done paying yetmost likely when you are lucky it for you take off then check the cooling problem fixedalthough if you didnt pay too much cause they cooked the water pumpget pro to get the cooling problem fixedalthough if it is just one knock when they cooked the motor out ps if.
