The Nissan Primera has also been marketed in another name in other auto markets. It has been known as the Infiniti G20. And since 1990, this vehicle has already been produced. Its predecessor was the Nissan Stanza, and both were crafted as sedans with four doors. And now, the Nissan Motor Company describes this notable vehicle has an innovative car and one vehicle that surely and “simply cannot be ignored”. And with its Nissan parts made especially for this vehicle, the Nissan Primera has come to be a vehicle that bursts with technology and certainly looks sleeker than the rest.

Nissan Announces North American Management Changes

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008
nissan
RyanThomas asked:

The Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. earlier announced the changes at its North American Sales and Marketing Department. The changes are aimed at furthering the automaker’s growth in the global automotive industry. With the escalating competition, Nissan’s drive to sustain profitable development is also accelerating.

Indeed, changes are inevitable. And Nissan is putting its best foot forward to cope with the demands of the industry. But changes not only cover refinement of auto parts like the Nissan header. Management is also one of the crucial factors that should entertain changes as well. As a fact, Nissan Europe and Nissan Canada also announced related changes in senior positions.

“The U.S. market is changing and Nissan’s marketing and sales group must change with it,” said Brad Bradshaw, the Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing for Nissan North America. “Since 1999, we have nearly doubled the number of Nissan and Infiniti vehicles we are offering and more are coming.”

Bradshaw furthermore added, “We have created an architecture that allows us to react faster and with more confidence to changes in the market, to become more flexible and to take advantage of opportunities to enhance the brand recognition of Nissan and Infiniti.”

For the Nissan Americas, the changes are effective starting April 1 this year. Christian Meunier, presently the vice president of sales operations in Europe, will become the vice president for the Model Line marketing in North America. Beginning April, Meunier will be liable for model line management to ensure profitable growth for both Nissan and Infiniti portfolios.

Meunier is expected to formulate and develop a model-by-model strategic positioning briefs. He will also be responsible for the launch strategy, coordination, marketing, sales and other corporate communications to ensure the success of the automaker’s North American Model Line. Meunier will directly report to Bradshaw. Additionally, four model line marketing directors, including one from Infiniti, will report to Meunier.

Since 2002, Meunier has been working at Nissan Europe in the sales and marketing area. Meunier has already established a name in auto sales and marketing. He previously holds the sales and marketing positions with Mercedes-Benz USA, Rover France and Ford France.

“Corporate structure is a framework enabling us to implement strategies through the company’s greatest asset - its people,” said Bradshaw. “The new structure will enhance the resources we have to take on challenges and succeed. All these responsibilities are crucial to the successful fulfillment of the Nissan Value-Up business plan and our longer term success in North America.”

Another change in management includes Jan Thompson, who currently is the vice president for marketing at Nissan North America. Thompson will become the vice president for marketing communications. She will be concentrating on advertising, interactive marketing as well as other marketing communications activities for Nissan and Infiniti brands. Directors who will be reporting to Thompson will account for interactive marketing and marketing communications.

Other management changes include the following: Dave Mazur, currently the vice president for market intelligence, will be having additional responsibilities of pricing, market planning and brand management. Yuhei Takahashi, who previously handles the responsibilities connected to pricing and brand management, will just finish his U.S assignment and is expected to go back to Japan for a new assignment. Mazur’s group will be responsible for segment and vehicle volume forecasts and analyses. It will also be liable for product contract monitoring, pricing and brand tracking.

For Nissan Europe and Canada, changes in management include Simon Thomas, who is currently the vice president for sales and marketing for Nissan Canada, Inc., will replace Meunier as the vice president for sales operations at Nissan Europe. Thomas’ replacement will be announced at a later time.

Nissan Enters Entry-level Car Segment With Versa

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008
nissan
KatieJones asked:

Before 1999, Nissan was in the brink of bankruptcy until Carlos Ghosn took the reigns for the company. Under Ghosn, the company made its turnaround and has become a serious force to reckon with in the global auto market. As the company makes its move to turn itself back to profitability, the company opted to sacrifice their entry-level car.

For many years, Nissan has no entry-level car to offer their consumers. That was until the introduction of the Nissan Versa. Not only does the Versa heralds Nissan’s return to the particular segment in the global auto market, it also signifies the so-called second wave of new Nissan auto models.

Last year, Nissan suffered its first drawback since Ghosn took control of the company. The reason pointed out for that is the lack of car and truck models offered by Nissan. In order to make the company popular again among car buyers, Nissan is planning to introduce new auto models before the year 2010.

The Versa is the first of that generation. The Versa comes in either hatchback or sedan body style. What the sedan and hatchback version of the Versa shares is the Nissan B platform. The said platform is also being used by the Nissan Cube, Nissan Micra, and the Renault Clio. The B platform used in the Versa was homologated to conform to North American safety and emission standards.

Since the Versa will be offered in the United States auto market, its interior space is of utmost importance. Car manufacturers know the affinity of Americans towards vehicle with adequate, if not a large amount, interior space. The Versa is proof that Nissan is well aware of that fact.

The interior of the Versa is tailor-made for Americans with its adequate legroom. Even for passengers at the back, legroom is still sufficient to ensure comfort even on long trips. For the hatchback Versa, interior volume is 2,772 liters or 94.4 cubic feet. For the sedan version, interior volume is slightly less at 2,659 liters or 93.9 cubic feet. In terms of luggage space, the Versa hatchback offers 504 liters or 17.8 cubic feet of space behind the second row of seats. Fold down rear seats increases luggage space to 1,427 liters or 50.4 cubic feet. For the sedan Versa, luggage capacity is at 391 liters or 13.8 cubic feet.

Aside from the large interior space, another notable feature that the Versa has is that it has the biggest engine in its class. Its power comes from a 1.8-liter 16-valve, four cylinder engine that is capable of producing 122 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque. The engine can be mated to a six-speed manual transmission, a four-speed automatic transmission or Nissan’s Xtronic CVT or continuously variable transmission.

On the outside, the Versa is easily recognizable for its short front and rear overhangs. Styling cues on the Nissan body parts is accented by its grille design and headlight configuration. Wheelbase is at 102.4 inches which is considered close to that of a midsize sedan. Drag coefficient according to Nissan is 0.31 and that is almost similar to that of a sports car.

Nissan Auto Parts Embodies the Message of “love Car, Love People, Love Life.”

Sunday, April 20th, 2008
nissan
Katherine Hooper asked:

“Love car, love people, love life.” This has been Nissan’s guiding principle in carving its niche in the automotive industry. With their dedication to the people as well as their zest for everything that life has to offer, Nissan has manifested such values in designing superior cars that are tailor-made for the needs of the public. Today, Nissan vehicles are lauded for its main attributes of being reasonably priced, reliable, and technologically advanced.

Contrary to popular belief amongst car consumers that Nissan is a relatively new player in the industry, Nissan actually traces its origins back as early as 1911. The brand recognition may only seem recent, as it was previously operating under different names and in a foreign country unlike the typical pioneering American and European automakers. Originating in Japan, Nissan was initially called as the Kwaishinsha Motorcar Works, then Kwaishinsha Motorcar Co., and again renamed to DAT Motorcar Company. Further corporate mergings triggered another set of name alterations to DAT Automobile Manufacturing Co. Limited, to Jidosha-Seizo Co. Limited. The term ‘Nissan’ only came into the company’s history in 1934 through the Nissan Motor Company. Fickle as though Nissan may appear in terms of company name, there is nothing inconsistent in their vision to provide quality cars to the market. Intent to excel on its craft, Nissan even partnered with a European corporation to gain access to automobile and engine designs. With much engineering genius, it was in the 1950s that Nissan found itself entering American soil with its unique Datsun sedans and compact trucks. And with that, Nissan never looked back since.

At present, Nissan already has numerous high-powered vehicles tucked under its belt. It has fully exercised its expertise in creating a range of trucks, sport-utility vehicles, minivans, economical cars and luxury sedans. Its popular trucks are the Nissan Titan and Nissan Frontier. Its line of SUVs and minivans, on the other hand, would include the Nissan Quest, Pathfinder, Armada, and Murano. In addition, the car lineup boasts of the Nissan Sentra, Maxima, and Altima, to name a few. Nissan also offers a range of world-class luxury sedans under the Infiniti badge.

However, more than its top-of-the-line vehicles, Nissan has elevated its capabilities into new heights, what with its continuous clientèle assistance through the availability of the Nissan aftermarket parts. Each of these Nissan parts is stamped with the innovative and powerful performance intended for the vehicle’s smooth running. Nissan parts can be categorized for specific Nissan models such as the Nissan Pathfinder parts or Nissan Auto Parts. It can also be available in individual and general kinds, such as the Nissan fenders, spoilers, fuel tanks, alternators, condensers, coolant tanks, and a long list of others. Its Nissan engine parts, for instance, are considered industry marvels. The VQ35DE, Nissan’s all aluminum 3.5L V6 engine, is remarkably good for 245 horsepower at 5,800 rpm. While Nissan’s continuously variable transmission (CVT), dubbed as the Xtronic, is specifically designed to handle the power of the VQ35DE.

With all things considered, Nissan is a brand that reeks of style, innovation, and consumer commitment. Nissan doesn’t just rely on tried-and-tested products, it continuously engineers superior parts that would provide its car’s maximum performance.

Nissan Opens New Fqc, Recalls Over 140,500 Altima Sedans

Friday, April 18th, 2008
nissan
Rain Stockton asked:

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced in July 11 the official opening of a state-of-the-art field quality centre (FQC) at the Nissan Technical Centre Europe in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, UK.

Built at a cost of 4.5 million euros (US$6.13 million (i)), the new facility will be Europe’s leader in product quality improvement and will also centralize responsibilities which were previously handled by several functions that were disseminated throughout the continent.

Russell Crossan, general manager of quality for Nissan Europe, said that putting up the FQC at Cranfield enhances their company’s ability to work cross-functionally and quickly develops countermeasures to vehicle quality issues in Europe.

FQC engineers will reproduce the concern experienced by customers in the market through the use of parts which are directly collected from dealerships. They will then lead teams drawn from development, manufacturing and suppliers to name the root causes and develop “right first time” countermeasures.

The center will have a total staff of 46, as well as guest engineers from supplier partners who will work with the FQC to enhance parts quality. It will work closely with Nissan’s new state-of-the-art field quality center which opened last week in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, as well as Nissan’s two FQC facilities in the US. This will be done in order to improve Nissan’s global standard of quality and contribute to higher customer satisfaction at the optimum level.

Nissan Motor Co. is also recalling more than 140,500 Altima sedans because the air filter can catch fire if it touches a hot object such as cigarette ash.

The Japanese auto maker said that the recall involved 140,582 Altimas from the 2007 model year. Spokesman Tony Pearson said last Wednesday that the company has received reports of four fires but no injuries.

Nissan told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which posted the recall notice last Monday on its Office of Defect Investigation Web site that the filter may ignite if a certified hot object enters into the air-intake system.

Owners were notified in July 3, and dealers are replacing the air filters. The recall is expected to pursue through October 1, and owners with questions may call Nissan at (800) 647-7261.

About Nissan Motor Company and the SHIFT_ principle

Nissan is a Japanese car maker and maker of Nissan Frontier parts whose philosophy revolves on a single word – SHIFT_.

According to the company web site, the SHIFT_ principle implies that the company is not afraid to take the lead or to stretch the boundaries in wider and better directions.

Nissan North America Releases Environmental Update

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008
nissan
RyanThomas asked:

The Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., one of the successful Japanese automakers in the global arena, is increasingly proving its potentials. The maker of the VQ engines, which was included in the Ward’s 10 Best Engines for 12 straight years, is delving into another remarkable commitment. This time, it is strengthening its commitment to help save the environment through its Nissan Green Program 2010.

The Nissan Green Program 2010 is the automaker’s vision of its commitments to all aspects of environmental management. The program is aimed at responding to immediate challenges and creating the foundation for a long-term, sustainable business model.

Nissan is among the top three Asian automakers of the Big Three in the United States. And to compete more closely to Detroit’s Big Three, Nissan is also focusing on the reduction of CO2 emissions. The automaker has embraced a multi-pronged philosophy of product development. Nissan’s philosophy covers the formulation and production of auto technologies and product lines to promote clean environment.

The automaker is meticulously planning in order to have the right auto technologies at the right time and market. The technologies will be used to help sustain cleaner environment with lesser harmful emissions.

At this year’s New York Auto Show, the automaker introduced an engine that incorporates the variable valve event and lift (VEL) system. The system is capable of limiting CO2 emissions by around ten percent. The VEL system is as efficient as the refined Nissan oxygen sensor. According to Nissan, the first vehicle to offer this technology in North America will be an Infiniti.

Nissan has also developed clean diesel engines for North America to achieve the United States Tier2 BIN5 emissions standards. It will also unleash clean diesel vehicles in the United States from the 2010 fiscal year. By far, the automaker’s current gasoline engines are designed to run on a blend of up to ten percent bio-ethanol (E10). In 2005, Nissan has introduced the Titan FFV (E85). And this year, the automaker will be offering the Armada FFV (E85) in the US. The automaker plans to expand the E85 lineup to other Nissan and Infiniti vehicles in the post-Nissan Value-Up period.

In regard hybrids, Nissan launched the 2007 Altima Hybrid in February. The Altima Hybrid is Nissan’s first entry in the hybrid electric vehicle market. With more muscle per gallon than its rivals, it is the first hybrid to “drive like a Nissan.” It also features responsive handling, smooth acceleration, and seamless delivery of power under varying driving conditions. The automaker is planning to introduce a vehicle powered by a Nissan-developed hybrid system in the U.S. by 2010.

Nissan is accelerating development of plug-in hybrid technologies that can utilize grid power to recharge batteries in addition to the onboard charging system. Aside from hybrids, the automaker is also concentrating on the manufacture of vehicles that run on fuel cell and electricity.

What are your experiences with the Nissan Versa?

danman4472 asked:

I just test drove the Nissan Versa today. I really like the feel and look of this car. It’s very smooth and comfortable. The only negative thing I noticed it that the initial acceleration was a little sluggish and had to step on the gas harder to make it go. I’m curious to know for those of you who own or have driven the Versa how you like this car. Thanks.
