RyanThomas asked:

While Edmunds.com predicted an increase of 4.7 percent in terms of its April sales for Nissan, the Japanese car company reported recently that they have sold 11.1 percent fewer vehicles last month compared to April of 2006. This report came after the April’s selling days for this year ended.

Aside from reporting a reduction in April sales, the third largest Japanese car company also reported that year to date sales is also down by 14 percent. These sales reductions came in spite of the fact that the company’s luxury division Infiniti posted a 12 percent sales increase for the past month of April. Nissan’s total sales output for the month of April this year reached 61,179 vehicles while the year to date sale remains almost unchanged.

The decreased sale for Nissan is reflected in the lowered sales by both its truck and car segments. Total car sales for the Nissan division reached 33,166 vehicles which is 11.1 percent lower than last April 2006’s 40,424 vehicles. While April sales have gone down, year to date sale through the first four months of this year is higher than last year’s for the same period of time.

Fueled by strong sales achieved earlier this year, Nissan Division’s car segment year to date sale is now at 168,068 vehicles, an increase of 8.1 percent compared to last year’s 155,462 cars sold for the first four months. For trucks, Nissan’s April sales showed a reduction of 17.3 percent. Last year’s April saw the Nissan Division sold 36,678 trucks while this year’s April only saw Nissan sell 28,013 trucks. Year to date sale for the Nissan Division’s truck segment is also lower compared to last year. For the first four months of last year Nissan already sold 155,680 trucks while this year, Nissan only sold 139,547 trucks and that amount is a reduction of 10.4 percent.

While both the truck and car segment of the Nissan Division showed reduced April sales, Infiniti posted increased sale or the past month of April. Last month, Infiniti sold 7,548 cars, an increase of 14.9 percent over April 2006’s sale of 7,118 cars. Year to date sale for the Infiniti Division’s car segment is also increased by 14.3 percent. April 2007 sales increased year to date sales for cars to 32,141 vehicles while last year, for the first four months, there are only 28,130 Infiniti cars sold. Truck sales for the luxury division though, posted reduced April sales by 3.9 percent.

Last month, the division sold 2,397 trucks as compared to April 2006’s 2,500 trucks sold. Year to date sale for Infiniti’s truck segment is also down by 3.1 percent. Last year’s first four months saw Infiniti’s truck segment rack up sales of 10,675 trucks while this year, Infiniti only managed to sell 10,349 trucks from January to April.

All in all, for Nissan, they have sold 40,714 cars last month - 7.2 percent lower than the 47,542 cars they have sold last year for the same month. Year to date sales for cars is still higher than last year’s for the same period of time. From January to April last year, Nissan and Infiniti car sales reached 183,592 units. This year though, Nissan and Infiniti combined to deliver 200,209 cars for the same period of time on the way to posting an increase of 9.1 percent. In terms of truck sales, Nissan and Infiniti combined to sell 30,410 trucks last month, this is 15.9 percent lower than their trucks sales for the month of April last year. Year to date sale for trucks is down by 9.9 percent.

For the first three months this year, Nissan and Infiniti sold 149,896 trucks while last year the Japanese firm sold 166,355 trucks from January to April.

The Nissan Division’s complete lineup for the United States auto market is composed of the Versa, Sentra, Altima, Maxima, 350Z, Frontier, Xterra, Pathfinder, Murano, Quest, Armada, and the Titan. All of these are of course equipped with Nissan clutches and other reliable components. Infiniti models, on the other hand, include the I35, G Sedan, G Coupe, M, Q45, QX56 and the FX.

Nissan Diesel Now Part of Volvo Group

Monday, March 17th, 2008
nissan
RyanThomas asked:

Volvo Group now owns 96 percent of Nissan Diesel after the Swedish company’s acceptance period offer for the latter expired on the 23rd of this month. The 96 percent voting power of Volvo on Nissan Diesel surpassed the Japanese government’s requirement for them to take over the company completely.

Volvo Group is now ready to purchase the remaining shares of Nissan Diesel to completely make Nissan Diesel a part of the Volvo Group. The approximately 96 percent ownership of Volvo Group of Nissan Diesel is because of the 294,585,705 shares that the former received after the acceptance period expired. It includes the 19 percent that Volvo already controlled even before the offer was made.

Volvo’s Chief Executive Officer Leif Johansson has this to say about the purchase of Nissan Diesel: “It is pleasing that we received such a level of acceptance. We foresee major mutual benefits for the Volvo Group and Nissan Diesel with this transaction and it is highly satisfying that owners in Nissan Diesel share this view.”

After acquiring more than two thirds of the company, the Volvo Group is now in the process of acquiring the rest of the company from other investors. Meanwhile, the Volvo Group is also planning to take Nissan Diesel out of the trading floor of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The remaining stakes are expected to be bought by Volvo Group by the end of September this year.

With total acquisition of the company, Volvo will be closing the gap between them and the largest truck manufacturer in the world which is DaimlerChrysler. They will also be responsible for the production of Nissan Diesel parts like the Nissan exhaust manifolds and other special auto parts made just for Nissan vehicles.

The Volvo Group will be paying 7.4 billion Swedish kronor and is expected to make payments on or before the 29th of this month. The completion of the purchase will need the approval of anti-trust authorities based in the United States and in South Africa. The Volvo Group has already secured approval from the U.S. institution and authorities while approval from the South African units is expected to be given by the end of May this year.

The Volvo Group needs to wait for the approval from authorities in South Africa before they can take control of Nissan Diesel facilities in the country. Aside from those matters, the Volvo Group considers that the purchase of Nissan Diesel is already in the books.

Nissan Diesel will be a part of the Truck segment of the Volvo Group.

What type of rims and auto audio system is good for 2007 Nissan Versa?

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

AKA Dawn Desantis asked:

For anyone who has a Nissan Versa Hatchback and/or is a car enthusiast - what type of tire rims would you suggest? what type of auto audio system would you suggest as there’s really not much space in the trunk area? not trying to be the flashiest or loudest car on the road, please suggest something decent and also for the audio system, some size that will still leave some room (don’t want to take up a lot of space). Thanks for your help.

Nissan Maxima Parts Deliver Maximum Performance

Monday, March 10th, 2008
nissan
Glady Reign asked:

The American market considers the Maxima as one of Nissan’s most significant vehicles. Known originally as the Datsun 810, it officially became “Maxima” in 1982. At the same time, the Datsun brand began its evolution into Nissan. A second-generation Maxima which introduced a front wheel drive V6 became available from 1985 to 1988. The third-generation Maxima later emerged for the 1989 to 1994 model years. During this period, Nissan enjoyed immense product success with the first Nissan Maxima featuring true-blue sporting credentials. Unlike other Japanese mid-sized sedans, the Maxima came with a V6 only and the option to order a manual transmission. An option for a 160-hp V6 was offered for early versions. The 190-hp engine was then presented in 1992 for the Maxima SE. Cars built for the 1995 to 1999 model years made up the fourth generation. For this model of the Maxima, Nissan made room for a greater length, improved the quality of the interior, and introduced a new 190-hp all-aluminum V6 for all trim levels. The handling was not quite as responsive as the previous version and the styling did not appear to be well-received. However, it remained popular due to its desirable combination of utility, performance, and luxury. The years 2000 to 2003 saw the coming of the fifth-generation Maxima. Major developments include the 222 hp from the standard V6, a boost in rear-seat legroom, and a 200-watt Bose audio system. In 2002, a bump in power to 255 hp was added as a distinguishing mark of the Nissan Maxima from the new Nissan Altima.

The Maxima available in the market today is the car’s sixth generation. It is a front-wheel-drive, mid-sized sedan that packs a 255-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 engine. Sending the engine’s power to the front wheels is a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The current model was last redesigned in 2004. Before the 2007 model year came out, the Maxima was packaged with either a 5-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual. Although the horsepower rating is listed as being higher (265) due to a new power rating procedure implemented in 2007, the engine performance is unchanged.

With all the best in technology, design, and luxury manifested in the Nissan Maxima like its excellent features and award -winning V6 engine, it has gained loyal followers around the globe. Nissan has constantly exerted so much effort to make sure that the Nissan Maxima will always be a cut above the rest. Among Nissan’s efforts is the development of superior Nissan Maxima parts like the engine which converts gasoline into motion so that the car can actually move. Unlike other vehicles which use belts to drive the camshafts, the Maxima engine has internal chains for the twin overhead cams to remove the need for regular replacement of the timing belt. As the engine performs one of the most needed functions of a vehicle to keep it in good running condition at all times, it is helpful to ensure good engine lubrication. This can be done by performing timely oil and oil filter changes and using only high quality oil and oil filters. Periodically checking the cooling system, the coolant level, and radiator will also help in preventing the engine from overheating. It is also recommended to perform engine maintenance and tune-up according to the owners’ manual schedule and to immediately eliminate any minor engine defects. Just like the Nissan Maxima parts , there are Nissan Maxima parts accessories that have important roles and therefore deserve proper caring. When these Nissan Maxima parts and accessories , big or small, start showing signs of wearing out or damage, immediate servicing or replacement should be done. One can choose to further improve the performance of the Nissan Maxima by getting only the best quality Nissan Maxima parts and accessories that the market offers.
